MEATEATERS

I acknowledge my gratitude to the beautiful trees who participated in this piece; the Pine and the Fir in the forest of Villa Elfvik. 

The Meateaters were part of an environmental art project at Villa Elfvik, Espoo, in the fall of 2000. Instructor of the method was visual artist Olavi Fellman. The artwork decayed fast due to hard weather and the remains, mostly pieces of torn paper, were cleaned up from the environment (no pictures of the process, sorry). Materials used on the Pine and the Fir was mortar made of clay and sand, paper, milk, and natural paint of red ochre.
